CAMERON — The Cameron Yellowjackets took the first step to what they hope is a trip to the Class A State Tournament in a couple of weekend.
Thursday night on their home field, the ’Jackets went 3-0 to win the Class A District Tournament. They defeated the Howe Lions 16-0, then beat the Gans Grizzlies 6-1 and 12-0.
The season came to an end for the Lions, who lost the first game of the district tournament in heartbreaking fashion — losing a one-run decision to the Grizzlies by a score of 8-7.
The Yellowjackets (15-10) will await the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association's decision of where, who and when they will play in next week's Class A Regional Tournament.
