Cameron man leads police on chase

Duane Ray Bryant, 26, of Cameron was arrested Sunday morning after leading police on a high speed chase through two towns.

A Cameron man was arrested Sunday morning after fleeing from Rock Island police.
Duane Ray Bryant, 26, of Cameron was arrested on charges of driving under the influence - 2nd of subsequent offense, felony elluding a police officer, possession of a loaded firearm in commission of a felony, driving on the wrong side of the road and failure to stop for a stop sign. He was also charged with two counts of reckless endangerment for his two passengers during the pursuit.
Rock Island Police Officer Brian Simpson said he witnessed Bryant's truck go airborne across Oklahoma State Highway after he failed to stop at a stop sign at the old 112 intersection. When Simpson tried to stop Bryant, a chase began that led through Rock Island, Cameron and along county roads almost reaching Poteau. The LeFlore County Sheriff's Department assisted in the pursuit and arrest of Bryant.
Bryant is being held in the LeFlore County Detention Center without bail pending a bond hearing.
