Carl Albert baseball team loses to NE Texas, splits with Tyler on Saturday

February 28, 2012

The Carl Albert State College baseball team suffered its first losses of the season over the weekend on a two-city, three-game Texas trip.
The trip ended Sunday with a 9-2 loss to Northeast Texas in Mount Pleasant.
On Saturday, the Vikings split a doubleheader on the road against Tyler, Texas, winning the opener 4-1 but losing the nightcap in heartbreaking fashion 4-3.
The Vikings will return to action in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Wednesday afternoon in Clarskville, Ark., against the University of the Ozarks junior varsity. The twinbill will be the only action this week for the Vikings.
Editor's Note — Look for the story about the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings softball team's games in the two-day Murray State College Festival from this past weekend in Wednesday's edition. The Lady Vikings will play a doubleheader at 2 p.m. this afternoon in Neosho, Mo., against Crowder College.
