Friday afternoon's home doubleheader against the Arkansas Baptist Buffaloes at Ival Goodman Field started on the right foot for the homestanding Carl Albert State Vikings baseball team, but finished on a down note for the locals.
The Vikings took the opener from the Buffs 9-0, but the visitors from Little Rock claimed an 8-1 victory in the nightcap.
The Vikings will return to action Saturday afternoon, welcoming archrival Eastern Oklahoma State College to Ival Goodman Field for a single, nine-inning game. The contest is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., but the game time may be moved up to 1 p.m. to accommodate the threat of rain.
