February 13, 2013

MUSKOGEE — The Carl Albert State College baseball team made it 2 for 2 in sweeping doubleheaders to begin the season. The Vikings easily took two from the Bacone College junior varsity by scores of 13-5 and 18-3 — the latter being a five-inning, run-rule game — on Monday afternoon.
Tuesday’s road twinbill at Coffeyville, Kan., was canceled due to bad weather. It has not been rescheduled at present time.
The Vikings have added a home game as they will play their home-opening doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ival Goodman Field against Jefferson (Mo.) College. Their original home openers were slated for 12:30 p.m. next Wednesday against Paris, Texas.
Editor’s note — Tuesday’s Carl Albert State College softball doubleheader at Paris, Texas, was moved to a 1 p.m. Thursday twinbill.
