Carl Albert State College Lady Viking basketball guard Ashala Watson punched her ticket to some more hoops in her collegiate career.
Watson signed to play her junior and senior seasons at Lyon College in Batesville, Ark., in a signing ceremony Monday afternoon at CASC.
“When I went and visited there, I saw that it was a good school,” Watson said. “The facilities and the coaches are great, and I just thought that it would be a good fit for me.”
“You hate to see the good ones go, but that's the nature of this beast [college basketball] that we're in,” said CASC women's coach Jeff Tadtman. “It's the cycle that we live in, but I'm happy for her. I think she's going to be very successful. Lyons has really improved their program over there. I think she'll do nothing but get better over the next two years, and be tremendously successful.”
