While no athletic titles came to the diamonds for the Carl Albert State College softball or baseball teams this past season, academic ones did, however.
The Lady Vikings have the fourth-best grade-point average for NJCAA Division I schools in the nation with a GPA of 3.48. That mark was .07 off the nation's best, which was 3.55.
The academic honors did not stop there. Two Lady Vikings and two Vikings were named as Academic All-Americans.
Softball player Kelsey Branscum and baseball player Austin Phippen had GPAs of 4.0, and were named as Pinnacle Award winners for their perfect GPA.
Lady Viking Chelsea Space's GPA of 3.93 earned her the Superior Academic Achievement Award.
Viking Bryan Holt was an Exemplary Academic Achievement Award winner for his 3.6 GPA.
