The Division of Health Sciences held its sixth annual Employment and Education Fair on Wednesday in the Carl Albert State College Costner Balentine Ballroom.
Lois Gotes, CASC director of nursing, said the event is for students who are enrolled in the CASC Nursing, PTA and RADT programs.
Five universities and 14 health agencies participated at the event to inform students about the opportunities available following graduation from CASC. Agencies included health departments, home health agencies, nursing homes, and major hospitals from the surrounding areas and as far away as Bethany and Alexander, Ark. In addition, the LeFlore County Workforce Center was represented. This agency provides financial assistance to students who meet their eligibility requirements and who are currently enrolled or have been accepted into the Nursing, PTA and RADT program.
“It is rewarding to see the interest in our students shown by the universities and agencies. It is also fun to look around the room and see that some of the representatives of the participants are CASC alumni of our Health Sciences programs, and they are now here recruiting our current students,” Gotes said.
