CASC men prepare for season of changes; Vikings open 2013-14 campaign Saturday morning vs. Howard, Texas, in Midwest Scouting Service Challenge

November 1, 2013

The Carl Albert State College Vikings will open their 2013-14 basketball season at 11 a.m. Saturday against Howard, Texas, and face South Plains, Texas, at 11 a.m. Sunday. Both games will be a part of the Midwest Scouting Service Challenge in Dallas.
The Vikings non-conference schedule will be tough as usual again this season.
“Howard and Coffeyville [Kan.] both made the national tournament last year,” CASC men's coach Mike St. John said. “We are playing three of the six teams in arguably the best region in the country from West Texas.
“The MSS Challenge used to be the Oklahoma-Texas Shootout, and it was relocated because the other Oklahoma schools became more involved in creative scheduling concepts.”
