CASC represented at Leadership Academy
Carl Albert State College student Austin Christopher recently completed the George and Donna Nigh Public Service Leadership Academy. The leadership academy is in Oklahoma City and is an opportunity for outstanding students to build leadership skills and look into major issues in the state, nation, and world.Christopher was selected by Dr. Brandon Webb, CASC President, to represent Carl Albert State College at the Nigh Academy. President Webb said, “Austin exemplifies the kind of high academic achievement and community involvement that participants in the academy must have. We were proud to have such an outstanding student represent CASC.” She was presented a $1,000 cash scholarship upon completion of the academy.An active student leader at Carl Albert State College, Austin is the daughter of Jo Christopher and the late Robert Christopher of Wright City. Her career goals include teaching at the elementary level and later working in public school administration. As a CASC student, Austin is very active in campus life. She is a Regents Scholarship recipient, member of the CASC Scholars Program, serves as a Residential Housing Assistant, VP of Fellowship in the PTK Honor Society, Chairwoman of the Political Science Club, a member of College Democrats, Student Activities Board, and Vike Ambassadors.
