The 2014 season got off to a pretty good start for the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings softball team this past weekend. The Lady Vikings went 3-1 in their own festival on their own field, beating Southwestern, Tenn., twice — 11-3 and 4-0 — as well as beating Allen County, Kan., 5-4. The lone blemish on the weekend was a 15-11 loss Friday afternoon to Coffeyville, Kan.
The Lady Vikings will return to action this afternoon in a 1 p.m. doubleheader against the Bacone College junior varsity in Muskogee.
Editor's note: Look for the story about the four-game weekend series the Carl Albert State College baseball team had against Highland, Kan., in a later edition this week.
