Behind strong first-half shooting and game clinching free throws, the Western Oklahoma State College Lady Pioneers came away with the 75-71 win over the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings in the first round of the Region II Tournament Monday night.
With the loss to Western, the Lady Vikings' season comes to an end with an overall record of 8-21.
Whitney Barnes, who was named to the second team All-Region II, led the way in her final game as a Lady Viking with 20 points.
"Anytime one of our players is recognized for their outstanding play and hard work, it is good for our program and CASC,” Tadtman said about his Indianola sophomore guard. “It is nice for Whitney to be recognized because she is so well deserving of this honor."
Four other Lady Vikings also played their final game Monday night — Ashlyn Stafford, Sheba Goode, Shelby Trozzi and Tanja Steed.
