Chapter honors one of its own

October 11, 2013

Cmdr. Charlie Horsley of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 63 was presented a plaque of achievement Tuesday by chapter members.
The award recognized Horsely's commitment in service to area veterans and the work that he has provided for the past five years.
Horsely also received an award for his devotion as an outstanding commander for the disabled veterans in county and chapter.
He received a standing ovation from chapter and auxiliary at the meeting.
Horsley gave a short speech, thanked everyone who was involved and teared up as he received his award.
The DAV meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month with a dinner followed by a business and informational meeting.
