Chili cook-off held at CASC Friday

February 14, 2013

17th annual Chili Cooking Contest set for Friday at 11 a.m.

Things will heat up today when the 17th annual Chili Cooking Contest kicks off at Carl Albert State College.
The competition will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second floor of the Costner-Balentine Student Center.
Tickets are $7 and cover all-you-can-eat chili, hot dogs, drinks and desserts.
Prizes will be awarded to those who make the tastiest chili. Several door prizes will also be given away and a silent auction will feature an array of items.
The competition is sponsored by Wal-Mart, which provides matching funds for a portion of the proceeds. The fundraising effort by college staff, faculty, students and supporters benefits the CASC Development Foundation. Funds raised provide scholarships to students and help build dormitories.
Since it began, the Chili Cooking Contest has raised more than $105,000 for the foundation.
