April 26, 2013

POCOLA — Choctaw Casino Hotel, one of nine casinos operated by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, is opening the next phase of a multi-million dollar expansion that includes a hotel, event venue, additional gaming and a parking garage.
The latest phase of the Choctaw Casino Hotel expansion project opening on May 1 includes a 118-room hotel including 10 luxury suites and two penthouse suites and the updated CenterStage event venue with 5,000 square feet of event space that seats up to 500 people for live entertainment and private events. The expansion also includes a 600-space covered parking garage connected to the casino and additional gaming, bringing the total number of slots to more than 2,100.
“We’re excited to unveil the latest phase of the expansion here at Choctaw Casino Hotel,” said Christy Chaser, general manager at Choctaw Casino Hotel. “We’re proud to welcome everyone to the expanded casino to experience a first-class destination with the very best in gaming, dining, lodging and entertainment.”
Earlier expansion phases included an increased gaming space now complete with a roomier slot floor with more than 2,100 slots, a high-limit gaming area and a 12-pit table featuring blackjack, three-card poker, ultimate Texas hold’em, live craps and live roulette.
Added dining options included Seven Ponies — a three meal restaurant with a steakhouse environment for dinner, Oak Tree Lounge — a key focal point at the center of the casino floor action, Trophy’s Bar & Grill — a state of the art sports bar and Coffee Café — a grab-and-go café serving assorted coffee drinks and snacks. The expansion also included Branches Trading Co., a gift shop with sundries, snacks and apparel.
A new Gilley’s restaurant and honky tonk will open on July 4 to complete the expansion.
