Clifford C. Myers

The Rev. Clifford C. Myers, 83, of Pocola died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Pocola. Clifford was born May 27, 1930 in Williams to Andrew Jackson and Nora Isabel (Byrd) Myers. He was the founding pastor of Pocola Heights Free Will Baptist Church in 1971 where he served as pastor until his death, having been a minister for 57 years, a retired truck driver, and a baseball coach. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and John Woods of Pocola; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Nancy Myers of Alma, Ark.; five grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Chris Robertson and wife Allie, Spec. Todd Myers, Jennifer Woods-Roger and husband Tommy, Josh Myers, Misty Robertson; four great-grandchildren, Alexi Robertson, Jonathan Woods, Alivia Myers, Jaxon Robertson; other relatives and loved ones; many beloved friends and church family.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Pocola Heights Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron. Pallbearers will be David Cagle, Rick Grizzle, Josh Myers, Johnny Holderfield, Tommy Roger and Chris Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Bullard, Z.W. Richison and former baseball players he coached.
The family will visit with relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Pocola.
