Community Thanksgiving Dinner still has needs

November 19, 2011

Donations still needed

Every year for the last seven years Jim Berngen has put together a community Thanksgiving dinner. Every year the number of meals prepared during the dinner has increased dramatically. This year is no different, he is expecting a large crowd.
Berngen said donations for the dinner are still needed. He said he has plenty of corn and green beans but is still looking for things like canned sweet potatoes, cranberry sause, brown and serve rolls and deserts of all kinds including sugar free.
Poteau Daily News is a drop off point for donations and anything not used during the Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be used in just three short weeks for the Community Christmas dinner.
The Thanksgiving dinner will be from 11:30 - 1:30 on Thanksgiving day in the Poteau High School Cafeteria.
