Community Thanksgiving Dinner

November 28, 2011

Organizers celebrate another successful Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

More than 430 meals were served at the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday. More than 200 of those were served inside the Poteau High School Cafeteria by volunteers who were on hand for the event. The dinner was supposed to start serving at 11 a.m. but so many were lined up early that the doors were opened at 10:30 a.m. Jim Bergen says he is now focusing on the Community Christmas Dinner which is just a couple of weeks away.
Bergen will be stopping by the PDN offices today to go over what is needed for the Christmas dinner. The Poteau Daily News is a drop off point for donations.
