It was not a good Tuesday afternoon of baseball for the Carl Albert State College Vikings at Ival Goodman Field as they were shut out 12-0 by the Connors State Cowboys.
Connors State scored twice in the first inning and once in the third for a 3-0 lead.
A three-run sixth inning doubled the lead to 6-0, then a six-run ninth inning made it 12-0.
Carl Albert had only four hits, but two of them were by Whitesboro's Dexter Morgan, who was 2-for-3. Brandon Cummings and Matt Turner were each 1-for-3.
The Vikings will begin conference play with a pair of doubleheaders this weekend at Ival Goodman Field against Western Oklahoma State College. The first twinbill will begin at 1 p.m. this afternoon, while the second doubleheader will begin at noon Saturday.
