Cooler weather, and changes in the wildlife rules in the wind

December 14, 2012

The weather finally feels like December, and I have been hooked up at work and haven’t got to hunt since the cold front hit. This should get the deer in feeding mode, so hunting food sources should be good this time of year.
This weekend, I am going to get to hunt at least one day, so maybe the weather will cooperate — and I can get a shot at a deer. Last weekend, Dan Carter and I took our wives on a weekend trip to stay in a cabin near Sardis Lake.
We hunted while they hung out at the cabin and did homework. The deer did not seem to be moving, and we did not see a thing. However, Dan did find a nice shed from last year from a good buck.
Have a great week!
