Dakota James McCoy, 15, of Howe died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Leflore.
Dakota was born July 6, 1997, in Talihina. He had just finished his sophomore year at Howe High School where he pitched, played catcher and shortstop on the school baseball team. He also loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, barbara McCoy.
He is survived by his parents, Roger and Amy McCoy of Howe; four sisters, Kara, Tara, Jade and Bekkah McCoy of the home; one brother, Braydon McCoy of the home; maternal grandparents, Jim and Sharon Cate of Howe; paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Tawnya McCoy of Heavener; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Springhill Baptist Church in Howe. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home, Heavener.
