Defending champions Poteau girls, Spiro boys garner top seeding for 2014 County Tournament

If the seeding holds true, there will be a pair of repeat champions at the LeFlore County Tournament, which will be Jan. 20-25.
The Poteau Lady Pirates and the Spiro Bulldogs were awarded the top seeds of this year's event, which is being hosted by Talihina High School.
On the girls' side, Poteau, last year's champions for the first time in 11 years when beating Talihina in last year's final, got the No. 1 seed, followed by Spiro and Howe as these three teams will receive first-round byes.
Arkoma's girls were awarded the fourth seed, followed by Panama, Heavener, Pocola, Talihina, Whitesboro, Bokoshe, Leflore, Wister and Cameron.
Spiro, which has won the last two LCTs, got the top seed in Wednesday night's seeding meeting, with Howe second and Poteau third. The ’Dogs, Lions and Pirates will get first-round byes.
Host Talihina got the fourth seed, followed by Pocola, Whitesboro, Heavener, Leflore, Arkoma, Cameron, Panama, Wister and Bokoshe.
