Donna Jean (Rogers) Shaw, 76, of Poteau died Thursday, September 13, 2012, in Oklahoma City after a lengthy illness.Â Donna was born June 20, 1936, in Tacoma, Wash. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She always had a love for writing and for music.
Donna was baptized in 1969 by her brother-in-law, Rev. David Shaw of Waynoka. She was a former member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Poteau. She was a former resident of Vista Nursing Home in Heavener. She was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Emma Rogers; sister, Audrey Braga, and former husband, Lewis â€śMartyâ€ť Shaw, and longtime friend, Katherine Hughey.
Donna is survived by two sons, Lewis Martin Shaw Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Plains, Mont., Richard Leaman Shaw and wife, Yoko, of Honolulu, Hawaii; three daughters, Alberta Jean Shaw of Oklahoma City, Rebecca Lynn Miller of Poteau, Debra Ann Hardesty of Fort Smith, Ark.; sister, Alma Andrews of Sedrowooley, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, Ali Razavi, Cory Ryan Miller, Carrie Lauren Miller, Jackey Hardesty, Merry Ann Hardesty, Naomi Rachel Shaw, Lydia Rebekah Shaw, Vanessa, Kenshiro and Tomoko; two great-grandchildren, Serenity Hope Hardesty-Walker and Aaliyah Faith Goines; other relatives and loved ones.Â
