Dorthy Faye Moore

Dorthy Faye Moore, 85, of Panama died Thursday, April 3, in Fort Smith, Ark. Dorthy was born April 10, 1928, in Denning, Ark., to Clarence E. and Clara Bell (Mayfield) Russell. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Silver Haired Legislature, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion and lifetime member of the VFW. Dorthy lived the motto, “We are people helping people." She volunteered at the Panama Senior Center for many years where she was instrumental in acquiring their first van. Dorthy also was the inspector for the Panama Election Board for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Moore; daughter, Francis Ann Fox; her parents; brother, J.R. Russell; three half brothers and one half sister. Survivors include her daughter, Nina Johnson and husband Darris of Witcherville, Ark.; three sons, James “Jimmy” Wesley Goff and wife Elaine of Harrison, Ark., Robert W. Moore Jr. and wife Carmen of Panama, Teddy Leon Moore and wife, Susan of Greenwood, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; a host of great- and great-great grandchildren; other relatives and loved ones. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with the Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron.Evans and Miller Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
