Duane loved life, he loved his family and welcomed anyone into the family. He was a dad to so many kids, he was kind and caring, always there to help anybody with anything, did not matter time of day or temperature outside. He grew up in the Lander-Buffalo, Wyo., area working on the ranch until the 1960s when he went to work for Teton Exploration Drilling Co. In 1983 after Teton closed, Duane moved the family to Poteau, where he did some drilling for Drillers Limited, later becoming owner-operator of Magness Muffler in Poteau for several years. He drove a truck in 48 states for several years before returning to the oilfield. He loved his job in the oilfield and he was good at it. In his spare time he loved to build things out of wood, or work in the yard.
