Earl Curry was born Feb. 6, 1935. to Isaac Frenzella “I.F.” and Myrtle (Ellis) Curry in Fisk, Mo. He graduated to glory on Jan. 2, 2013, at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 27 days at his home in Wister.Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Isaac, Elmo and wife Virginia, and Tolbert and wife Mary; brother-in-law, Ernest Walker; and sister-in-law Fannie Lou Curry. Earl was an elder of the Poteau Church of Christ. He worked for LeFlore County for 15 years; he was a carpenter for more than 40 years. He finished the 10th grade in Depoyster School in Missouri.Earl is survived by his wife, Beulah (Keifer) Curry of the home. They were married on Feb. 27, 1960. In the 52 years of marriage, they were blessed with one daughter, Judy Evonne Curry, born Dec. 6, 1960 and preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1970; three sons and their wives, Clifton and Brenda of Conroe, Texas, Curtis and Jackie of Porum, Gary and Tonya of Huntsville, Texas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Misty, husband Eric and son Nolan of Colorado Springs, Colo., Christopher and Kent of Conway, Ark., Michael and Kyle of Conroe, Texas, Kevin and wife Kayla of Pocola, Brad of Porum, Amber Saldana, husband A.J., daughter Esme and son Blane of El Paso, Texas, Cheyenne and Caitlyn of Huntsville, Texas. Three brothers: Ralph and wife Billie of Midwest City, Wayne and wife Vesta of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Vernon and wife Judy of Poplar Bluff; four sisters, Sybil Walker of Memphis, Texas, Marie and husband Manley Gilpin of Searcy, Ark., Eunice and husband Carrol Robertson of Alton, Texas, Gladys and husband Everett Williams of Memphis, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with Ron Babbit and Paul Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister.Pallbearers will be the LeFlore County District 2 workers. Honorary pallbearers include Lance Smith, Jim Seale, Bob Carter, Bob Marchant, Bud Morgan, Cliff Morgan and Billy Meeh.The family will visit with relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
