Ed Callaway

January 6, 2014

Ed Callaway had a smile that could light up a room. Everyone who knew him, whether for a moment or a lifetime, felt the warmth of his friendship, kindness and respect. He was a strong man, always there with a helping hand for those who needed it and always listened patiently. He was never quick to judge and thought things through before doing anything. He was very loyal and always could be counted on.
Ed graduated from Monroe High School and then from Kansas City Electrical School. He moved to California’s Cuyama Valley in the early 1960s, where he was employed by KP Farms. Ed worked at several other ranches before he bought his own ranch where he raised cattle and alfalfa. One of his favorite hobbies was riding one of his favorite horses.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Julia Callaway; brother, Don; and sister, Clara Ann.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Trudi; three sons, Bryan and wife Julie, Bruce and wife Valerie, Eric and wife Summer; nine grandchildren; and sister, Violett and Jerry Gragg of Muskogee.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Taft Westside Cemetery.
