Ellen Jane Waselues, 89, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Gilmore, the daughter of James A. and Rebecca Jane Davidson Ratterree. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank John Waselues, in 1984 and a daughter, Patty Clements, in 2004.
She was a homemaker, an avid Razorback fan and enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing. She loved to travel and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a volunteer for the Fayetteville Senior Center, EOA, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, volunteer for voting polls, Washington Regional Medical Center, March of Dimes and Walton Arts Center. Before her marriage, during World War II she was a â€śRosie the Riveterâ€ť for Douglas Aviation in Dallas, Texas.Â
She is survived by a son, Jim Waselues and wife Donna of Fayetteville; a daughter, Barbara Waselues of Fayetteville; son-in-law, David Clements of Tupelo, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Terra Waselues, Jenna Waselues, Hannah Ring and husband Matt, Matthew Clements, Andrew Clements and James Frank Clements; three great-grandchildren, Deuce Ring, Tyler Ring and Asher Ring; three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Mooreâ€™s Chapel in Fayetteville and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Mooreâ€™s Chapel, Fayetteville.
