Escaped inmate captured

Mark S. Bennett, was captured Friday evening by the Jim E. Hamiltion Correctional Center's CERT team.

An escaped prisoner from Jim E. Hamilton Community Correction Center led law enforcement on a 9-hour manhunt Friday until he was captured.
According to the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department, Mark Shane Bennett, 41, escaped from the Jim E. Hamilton Community Correction Center in Hodgen Friday morning. He was discovered missing at the 8 a.m. head count according to officials.
A search was conducted by members of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit, JEHCC CERT team, LeFlore County Sheriff's Department and other area law enforcement agencies.
During the search for Bennett, the JEHCC CERT team used tracking dogs to aid in the hunt for the escapee. According to radio communications, the CERT team located Bennett at about 5 p.m. north of the prison near the Stapp Zoe community by a forestry facility.
