Eugene Travis Boyer

Eugene Travis Boyer of Muskogee (formerly
of Poteau) died Saturday, Aug. 27,
2011, in Muskogee.
Gene was born Oct. 14 in Parma, Mo.,
to Otto Chester and Stella Pearl (Carylile)
Boyer. He spent his career as a retail manager
for Walmart and C.R. Anthony’s and
was a partner in D&D Pharmacy in Poteau
and Fort Smith, Ark. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Betty. Gene was a 57-year member of the Poteau
Masonic Lodge. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Army and
attended First Baptist Church in Poteau. His passion was
bowling.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and
Ed Logwood of Harrisonville, Mo., Sherrie and Michael
Jones of Poteau; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and
Marianna Boyer of Chesapeake, Va.; eight grandchildren;
brother, Floyd “Cotton” Boyer of Belton, Mo., and scores
of friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Evans
Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with The Rev. Jim Cook
officiating. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial
Gardens, Springfield, Mo.
