Expo organizers host student contest

August 27, 2013

Organizers of the 2013 Eastern Oklahoma Emergency Expo are challenging children grades 1-12 one of three emergency themed contests.
Children grades 1-4 are encouraged to enter the "How to be Prepared" poster contest. The poster should display preparedness in the event of an emergency.
The top three posters in each grade will be awarded Walmart gift cards.
Students grades 5-8 can participate in an exhibit contest. The topic of the contest must be centered around the "You can be the Hero" 2013 National Preparedness Month.
The first-place exhibit winners for each grade will receive a Walmart gift card.
Students grade 9-12 are encouraged to enter a short video in the "Are you Ready" contest. Video entries can be no longer than three minutes in length and must contain both video and audio. A team of no more than three members is allowed to work to create a video.
The winning video will be held at this year's expo at Carl Albert State College and it's creators will each be awarded a Walmart gift card.
All entries must be received by Sept. 13 no later than 5 p.m.
For a complete set of rules and registration email Amber Reece at the OSU Extension LeFlore County Office at amber.reece@okstate.edu. If you have an urgent question contact Reece at (918) 635-0362.
