A few teams still undefeated; Heavener gets first win

September 16, 2011

We still have some unbeatens in LeFlore County. Poteau (which routed Idabel 42-7), Arkoma (a mercy-rule win over Prue in its District C-4 opener), Pocola (34-10 victors over Haileyville) and Talihina (an 18-14 road winner at Gore).
Heavener had to wait until Week 8 last year to get its first win of the season. This year, the Wolves got it in their home opener last week, beating Sallisaw-Central 21-6.
This week, first-year Panama Coach Brandon Ellis faces his former team, the Gore Pirates — with both teams looking for win No. 1 of 2011. Spiro will look to bounce back from its 32-16 loss last week at Muldrow with a home game against Roland tonight.
Bokoshe will also go for its first win of the season in its District C-4 home opener tonight against Webbers Falls.
