Fishing tournaments galore coming up in area

The Boys and Girls Club of Alma, Ark., will have its “Fall Challenge on the Arkansas River” Bass Tournament From 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Fort Smith (Ark.) Park. The entry fee is $80 per boat. There will be $5,000 of prize money to be awarded — guaranteed. For additional information, call Rick Clark at (479) 459-0798.
The Kiamichi Outdoor Sportsman Festival Bass Tournament will be from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Wards Landing on Wister Lake. The entry fee is $40 per angler. Youth ages 12 and younger will get to fish for free. The weigh-in will be live on Dewey Avenue in Poteau. For additional information, call the “Jody Ray Fishing Hotline” at (918) 649-7387.
The Robert S. Kerr Reservoir Bassnanza will take place Sept. 17 at Applegate Cove Marina. The entry fee is $175 per boat. There will be a guaranteed $10,000 of prize money which will be awarded. For those who enter by today, a free T-shirt will be awarded, presented by the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce.
