Flooding in south LeFlore County causes damage

November 22, 2011

A tree and other debris can be seen by this bridge which washed out on Black Fork Drive.

Reports of several homes that were flooded during flash flooding Tuesday night as well as damage to roads and bridges left authorities breathing a sigh of relief. When reports of flooding first began at approximately 8:30 it was feared that several people could have been washed away or injured.
That was not the case.
Crews with several fire departments and law enforcement agencies as well as LeFlore County EMS and Emergency Management worked tirelessly to assist the public and handle the situation.
