Former Big 12 standout now Lady Vikings' assistant coach

December 30, 2011

DANIELLE GANT

Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings Basketball Coach Jeff Tadtman would like to announce Danielle Gant as the new Lady Vikings' assistant coach.
In 2005 as a senior at Putnam City West, Gant led the state in scoring with an average of 25.2 points per game. Also, she was named the Oklahoma State Player of the Year.
Following her senior year, she signed and played basketball in the Big 12 for Texas A&M.
“One of my friends, Shaunte Smith, told me about her situation, and that the Lady Vikings had an assistant coach opening,” Gant said. “My assistant coach at Texas A&M, Vic Schaefer, actually contacted Coach Tadtman, and then Coach Tadtman contacted me."
The new job has paid off huge for Gant.
“Danielle originally applied for the job, but she took the opportunity to play professionally in Puerto Rico,” Tadtman said. “When she got back, she made contact with us. The timing was good, and we were very fortunate to get her."
