Former Poteau wrestling coach honored by OCA on Wednesday; Red Oak basketball player plays in All-State Small School Game

July 31, 2014

CHRIS BARBEE

While there was no LeFlore County athlete or coach in the spotlight during Wednesday’s action in the 2014 Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Games in the Tulsa metropolitan area, there were two individuals who did stand out.
Former Poteau and current Stilwell wrestling coach Chris Barbee was awarded with the Outstanding Achievement Award by OCA for his 15 years of service during the All-State Wrestling Matches at Bixby High School. The East dominated the West 45-6.
At the Oral Roberts University Mabee Center, Red Oak graduate Baylee Evans played for the Small East team in the All-State Girls Basketball Games.
The former Red Oak standout made her impact for the Small East, finishing second in team scoring with nine points in a 70-56 loss to the West.
