Former Spiro QB named MVP of Southwest Junior Conference; Mitchem vocally commits to New Mexico

December 24, 2012

CLAYTON MITCHEM

Former Spiro quarterback Clayton Mitchem was named the Most Valuable Player of the Southwest Junior College Football Conference for the 2012 season.
Mitchem, who quarterbacked the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Norsemen to a top-10 junior-college ranking, established NEO school records for passing yards (2,201) and touchdowns (25) in a single season. He was 152-of-258 in passing.
Next season, Mitchem, who was named an All-Stater after the 2010 football season, will likely be donning the Red and Silver as he has vocally committed to the University of New Mexico.
Mitchem will make it official when he signs on National Letter of Intent Signing Day on Feb. 6.
