Sr. Master Sgt. Frank P. King Jr., Ret., 79, of Washington, D.C., died Aug. 27, 2013, in Washington.Â
Frank was born Sept. 5, 1933, in Black Fork, Ark. to Frank P. King Sr. and Lou Bell Parker King. Frank was a 1952 graduate of Heavener High School. He attended Oklahoma State University and received a business administration degree from the University of Maryland. He served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He later joined the U.S. Air Force and retired after 23 years of honorable service. He was an avid bridge player and ranked No. 1 in the Northern Virginia Bridge Association. In October 1999 he had earned 15,375 Master points. He was later ranked 54th in the world. Frank was honored to spend the last few years with his fellow military heroes in the U.S. Air Force Retirement Home in Washington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou King.
He is survived by four brothers, Bill King and wife Eva of Heavener, Paul King and wife Susan of Homerville, Ga., Glen King and wife Frances of Colcord and John King and wife Jackie of Heavener.
