Friday's High School Baseball Roundup

September 3, 2013

RED OAK — Red Oak pitcher Cody Muncy threw a two-hitter as the Eagles shut out the Wister Wildcats 8-0 Friday afternoon.
Muncy only allowed a triple to Jake Sconyers and a single to Hunter Prock, while fanning seven Wildcats.
The Eagles scored single runs in the first two innings for a 2-0 lead, then scored four runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to put the game into run-rule status.
Varnum 13, Leflore 1; Caney 15, Leflore 3: At Varnum High School near Seminole, a strong week for the Savages ended on a down note.
Boswell 11, Whitesboro 0; Achille 6, Whitesboro 5: In Boswell, in a battle of the Cartwright brothers, Boswell coach Alan beat Whitesboro's Bryan again after doing so the weekend before in the Whitesboro Tournament.
Boswell's pitcher three-hit the Bulldogs.
In the loss to Achille, a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning provided the walk-off win for the Eagles.
