CAMERON — The Cameron Yellowjackets earned a share of the 2011-12 Green Valley Conference championship with a 57-51 win over the McCurtain Bulldogs Friday night at the Cameron Gym.
The win for the Yellowjackets, coupled with Wister's loss to Keota Friday night, gave the ’Jackets a share of the Green Valley Conference title with the Wildcats.
Keota 56, Wister 47: In Keota, the Lions spoiled the chance for the Wildcats to win the Green Valley Conference title outright. Keota rallied from a 14-10 deficit to take a 24-20 halftime lead. In the second half, the Lions outscored the ’Cats 32-27 to seal the deal.
Heavener 59, Hartshorne 51: In Heavener, the Wolves led from start to finish, but not by large margins. Heavener led 15-14 after one period, 29-23 at halftime and 46-37 after three quarters.
Pocola 53, Wilburton 39: In Pocola, the Indians scored the game's first five points en route to a 9-8 lead after one period. As the game progressed, so, too, did their lead. It was 23-20 at halftime and 37-31 after three periods. In the final quarter, Pocola doubled up Wilburton 16-8 to win going away.
Talihina 61, Stigler 36: In Talihina, the Golden Tigers used a strong second period to break open a close game. Leading 13-12 after the first eight minutes, Talihina outscored Stigler 22-4 in the second period to take a 35-16 lead at halftime.
Whitesboro 53, Quinton 47: In Quinton, the Bulldogs led the Savages from start to finish, including a 12-4 lead after one period.
Roland 75, Sipro 61: In Roland, Class 4A's top-ranked and undefeated Rangers stayed that way with a home win over the Bulldogs. Roland led 13-10 after one period, but Spiro cut the deficit to 27-26 at halftime. Leading 51-48 after three periods, the Rangers outscored the ’Dogs 24-13 in the final quarter to win going away.
