Friday's High School Softball Roundup

August 28, 2012

WISTER — The Wister Lady Wildcats ended their week Friday afternoon with a Green Valley Conference doubleheader sweep of the Cameron Lady Yellowjackets by scores of 16-8 and 9-0.
Westville 10, Heavener 3: In Heavener, trailing 1-0 after an inning, the Lady Yellowjackets scored twice in the second inning and twice more in the third inning for a 4-1 lead. Then, they put the game away with a two-run sixth inning and a four-run seventh.
Buffalo Valley 11, Howe 1: In Howe, the Lady Buffaloes jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning, which ballooned to 8-0 in the second inning.
Abby Landeros scored the only run for the Lady Lions as she scored on an illegal pitch in the third inning.
Editor's Note — Heavener's games in the Oktaha Tournament on Saturday were rained out. No make-up dates for the games have been set. Also, due to a scheduling quirk, Talihina did not get to play any games in the Hartshorne Festival on Thursday or Friday.
