Friday/Thursday High School Softball Roundup

September 10, 2011

NORMAN — The Poteau Lady Pirates went 3-1 in their first four games over the first two days of the University of Oklahoma Tournament.
On Friday, the Lady Pirates defeated Red Oak 5-3 after losing 11-0 to Purcell.
Poteau won both games Thursday, beating Lawton MacArthur 9-3 and Yukon 7-3.
Pocola 10, Howe 2: In Pocola, after the Lady Lions (10-14) cut the deficit to 4-2 with a two-run sixth inning, the Lady Indians (7-9) put the game into run-rule status with a six-run sixth inning.
Leflore 17, Panola 15, 8 inn.: In Panola, after seeing their 11-run, first-inning lead evaporate, the Lady Savages (2-6) scored two unearned runs in the eighth inning to get the win.
Editor's Note — Panama's game at Wister was canceled due to Friday night football. The game won't be rescheduled. Also, because of lack of players, Whitesboro's game at Clayton was turned into a scrimmage.
