FS Southside soccer teams sweep Poteau boys, girls

March 17, 2012

FORT SMITH, Ark. — Two crucial non calls by the officiating crew turned a great game into a runaway by the Southside Rebels, who knocked off the Pirates 9-2.
Southside opened the soccer doubleheader with a 7-0 shutout of the Lady Pirates.
The Poteau soccer teams will take Spring Break off, then return to action on March 27 at Costner Stadium against Fort Smith Northside. The girls' contest will begin at 5 p.m., then the boys' game at 7 p.m.
Editor's note — Heavener's Tuesday soccer games against Tulsa NOAH have been canceled with no make-up date set.
