Gail Hobbs Moore, formerly of Poteau and Tulsa, died on May 19, 2012, in Valley Park, Mo. She was 92.Â She was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Russellville, Ark., where she attended high school.Â She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Robert â€śJimmyâ€ť Moore, who died in 1965.Â Gail and Jimmy spent many happy years in Poteau and were active in The First Methodist Church and in school activities with their five children. Gail was also preceded in death by her mother, Norma Campbell Hobbs; father, Earl Roberts Hobbs; sister, Harriette Hobbs Pattie; and brother, George Hall Hobbs.
She is survived by a son and his wife, James Robert â€śBobâ€ť and Vera Moore, of Eugene, Ore.; daughters Barbara Bray and her husband, William â€śBill.â€ť of Rockport, Texas, Harriette (Cissy) Gregory and her husband, James â€śJim,â€ť of Valley Park, Susan Vance and her husband, Dwight, of Broken Arrow, Mary Ann Davis and her husband, John, of Rockport; niece, Leigh Mitchell of Oregon, and 10 other nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Patricia Gail Bray, Jennifer Bray, Adele Moore (Morrison), Eric Moore, Dan Gregory, Lisa Moore, Laurie Cotton, Stacy Vance, and Scott Vance; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Gail leaves behind a loving and grateful family.Â She will always be remembered by them and her friends, especially Darlene and Tom McLain.
A family memorial service, officiated by Reverend Kenneth Tobler, will be held Saturday, July 7. at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark.
