Gerald Dee Wilson, 77, of Poteau died Aug. 29, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Sept. 23, 1936 in Red Oak to James Howard and Bertha Lucille (Montgomery) Wilson. He was retired from Whirlpool Corp.
Gerald was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Cleo Wilson; two daughters, Laura Wilson and Joyce Mirus; four brothers James Wilson, Leonard Wilson, Joe Wilson and Bob Wilson
Gerald is survived by his wife, Joyce Wilson of Cove, Ark.; children, Karen Aary, Linda DeWitt and Robert Dean Dewitt all of Pocola; a brother, Jack Wilson of Blanchard; a sister, Debbie Bryant of Red Oak; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren with two more on the way; a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Rick Ryburn, Corey Morrow, Marcus Mirus, Howard Blankenship, Darrell Mirus, Kyle Cooper, Jerry Reynolds and Ronnie Adams.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3,. at the First Step of Faith Church with Brother Leon Glenn and Pastor Troy Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home.
