The glory of spring

May 24, 2013

JERRY'S SPRING FLING — Outdoor columnist Jerry Davidson caught this gobbler during his favorite time of the year, the spring season when turkey season takes place. Photo Submitted by Jerry Davidson

God gives us four seasons, all of which are special in their own way.
We have summer when outdoorsmen can pick blackberries, noodle for catfish or just catch fish the normal way by actually fishing for them — although I love grabbing those big flatheads with my hands.
We then have fall, which I look forward to each year with great anticipation. The squirrel and duck hunting, along with chasing after whitetail deer consumes me.
Winter has more duck hunting and chasing predators, but then comes spring.
If God made me choose which one of the four seasons in which I would want to live the rest of my life, it would be spring so I can chase wild turkeys.
