Goldie Lucille Hicks, 93, of Wister died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 in Fort Smith, Ark. Goldie was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Hollis to Benjamin and Leatha (Burgess) Jones. She was a homemaker. Goldie was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Wister for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 29 years, Lige Jay Hicks; great-granddaughter, Autumn Meeks; one brother and four sisters.
 Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Don Meeks of Wister; grandson and fiancé, Donald and Glenda Meeks of Wister; and niece, Leatha Helmer of Wagoner.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Bethel Baptist Church in Wister with Rev. Clyde Steelman officiating. Interment will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Millard, Doug Shipley, Jim Nobles, Steve Walden, Jeremy Hale, and Mark Helmer.
 The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Saturday to visit with relatives and friends.
