Good times with family, and a couple of deer down

January 3, 2013

Christmas break has been awesome around the Midgley household. I got to spend a few days camping and hunting, then the rest of the break with my family.
First we took the boys to Branson, Mo., for a few days. They got to experience the Dixie Stampede and the Chinese Acrobats, along with the beauty of Branson at Christmas.
We are planning a trip in the spring or summer so they can go to Silver Dollar City when it is not so cold. They are pumped about it, too.

I hope everyone has a great new year, and if you get a chance head out next week and watch some of the 2013 LeFlore County Junior High Basketball Tournament, which will take place at host Monroe, Wister, Howe and Carl Albert State College’s Mick Thompson Fieldhouse. Some of the future high school stars in out county will be in action.
The 2013 LeFlore County Junior High Tournament Guide will be out in Saturday’s edition, while the two play-in games — Cameron-Shady Point girls (3:30 p.m.) and Bokoshe-Shady Point boys (4:45 p.m.) — will take place Friday at Monroe.
