Do you remember your first date? Would you rather forget it? The odd and exciting world of dating is the subject of the Good Times Community Theatre League's latest production, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change!"
Evening performances are set for 7 o'clock Feb. 22-23 and a matinee is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.
The show will take place in the Black Box Theatre at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center in Poteau. Tickets are $10 and must be reserved in advance by calling (918) 647-3079 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Written by Joe Dipietro and Jimmy Roberts, the show is being directed by GTCTL vice president Alisha Spears. It showcases the talents of league board members Lauren Peck and Becky Adams, as well as veterans Steve Clay, Aaron Emberton, Carrie Emberton and Rachel Lowe. Additionally, the show will feature new performers Shalom Staats, Logan Sloan and Nick Weisenfels.
The production presents a series of vignettes centered around awkward first dates, wedding jitters and the challenges of married life. The show is a musical production and uses song to tell the audience what the characters really are thinking.
While there is no violence or foul language, GTCTL officials advise parents to leave children at home, as the production is concerned with adult relationship issues and is specifically produced and designed to entertain parents out for a night on the town.
The gala premiere on opening night, Feb, 22, will offer for sale cocktails provided by Almost Italy and Saturday's performance will be accompanied by coffee provided by the Coffee Cup.
