Grady Eugene “Dick” Aary

Submitted by Amy SumpterGrady Eugene “Dick” Aary, 88, of Bokoshe went to be with the Lord Friday, July 11, 2014, at home.Dick was born April 17, 1926, to “Day” and Ethel Aary on Bokoshe Mountain. Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and above all, serving the Lord. He was a deacon at Bethel Light House Church in Panama.Dick was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Aileene Aary; his parents; and brother, Earskin Aary.Survivors include one daughter, Karen Belknap of Poteau, two granddaughters, Amy Sumpter and Lori Belknap, both of Poteau; seven great-grandchildren, Chris Sumpter, Candice Lainer, Brianna Steele, Noah Sumpter, Gabbie Sumpter, Victoria Steele and Luke Sumpter; one great-great-granddaughter, Emmrie Sumpter; two brothers, Leo Aary of Tulsa, Harley Aary of Glenpool; one sister, Loretha Mitchell of Bokoshe; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of beloved friends.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Evans Chapel of memories in Poteau with Brother James Hill officiating. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.The Aary, LeFlore and Belknap families will have a spaghetti dinner at noon Wednesday for all family and friends who wish to attend.
